Secrets of the Jewish Calendar: Changing the Calendar

In the Jewish tradition, we recognize significant events by ritualizing them; turning one-time experiences into annual commemorations. How can we ritualize when working off of a set calendar that is resistant to change? In this class, we will explore this question as it relates to Yom Ha'atzmaut, Yom Hazikaron, and Yom Hashoah, three controversial recent additions to the Jewish calendar.
